Our Client is a privately held, diversified group with operations in the Middle East, UK and emerging markets. Some of their business interests include: Automotive, Logistics, Energy, Hospitality and Investments across the GCC.

Currently the organization is poised for an impressive growth in line with its ambitious strategic plan at the holding level. The organization requires a Chief Operating Officer with a strong Financial and Operations background to take charge of its interests in the entire Group. The organization requires the COO to provide strategic guidance, advice and insight regarding key acquisitions made by the group. In summary this diversified business group is looking for a strategic leader to align the company’s financial and operational services portfolio and maximize value creation.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Group CEO
  • Monitors all the businesses in the operational services segment
  • Oversees the marketing, HR, procurement from a financial and operational perspective
  • Developing, implementing and championing the financial services strategy and operations for the group
  • Create a positive impact in the group’s growth plans
  • Offering strategic insight to the respective leadership teams
  • Identification of possible strategic partners for acquisition and or joint ventures
  • The COO will be a critical member of the senior management team at the Group level and will advise the Group CEO and Board on sound investment decisions that graft onto the group’s long term vision

Requirements:

  • Min 10 years’ experience working in a diverse group in the GCC as a CFO or COO
  • Experience of restructuring finance
  • Mid career, dynamic and able to think outside the box
  • A background in a finance/accounting department is essential, after that a strategic move into an operation role should be visible on the CV
  • Strong financial modelling and FP&A
  • Master’s degree in business or related field, CFA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent will be valued in this position
  • Clear ability to perform evaluations and understand how to drive value creation through financial structuring. Previous experience managing large multi-asset portfolios
  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to create consensus with direct reports, managers and senior stakeholders
